What is interior design?

Interior design is the art and science of enhancing a space to achieve a healthier and more aesthetically pleasing environment for the people using it.

An interior designer is someone who plans, researches, coordinates, and manages such projects. Bringing life, mood, personality, function and practicality to the space.

There are many advantages to engaging an interior designer to bring your home or project to life.

My story

My passion for interiors started from a chat with my art teacher at school when choosing subjects to take for my GCSE’s. I loved Art and Textiles and wanted to do both, in the discussion I discovered he had spent most of his career as an Interior Designer and my intrigue began!

I graduated from Chelsea college of Art and Design and went on to gain my honours degree in Textile design at Nottingham Trent University. During my career I worked throughout the UK and in various aspects of interior design: knowledge and expertise I now use in my business.

“We were a little nervous about using an interior designer as we hadn’t done anything like this before and had no real idea what to expect.  That all changed as soon as we met Elaine, who is incredibly warm and friendly, and very quickly put us at ease. She listened carefully to our vague and confused ideas, and asked plenty of questions to establish both our taste and the utility we wanted from the room.  We never felt that Elaine pushed her own ideas but very quickly realised that she was exceptional at what she does, and so from an early stage, had a very high level of trust and confidence in her.”
